“Let me sit here on the threshold of two worlds. Lost in the eloquence of Silence.”
~ Rumi
Silence is often thought of as the absence of sound, a kind of barely tolerable void, longed for only when the chaotic noise of the world becomes too much. Silence is often found to be uncomfortable, preferencing clever articulation over the desperate inward search for just the right words to say.
But to the mystic, silence is a companion presence—a living, creative experience of the heart that renews, restores, and capacitizes one to be with the internal and external world with loving equanimity and deep presence.
Inspired by Robert Sardello’s brilliant book by the same title, “Silence: The Mystery of Wholeness” in this series, we will delve deeply into the subtleties of silence, exploring the phenomenon as a source of wholeness and revitalization, awakening us to the inner currents of spirituality that ultimately lead to a path of universal compassion, service, and healing.
“To hear, one must be silent”
~ Ursula Le Guin
Silence is a sacred emptiness seeking never to be filled, a profound question not requiring an answer, a nothingness that doesn’t want to become a something. There is a stillness woven into its fabric that draws you into itself; a welcoming and a befriending of an unknown and perhaps unknowable mystery, where the abyss-like depths of heart meet at last, a wordless listening.
Silence is a master teacher of the art of listening but longs to be invited. Join us this Sunday for week one of our series as together we stretch the boundaries of our auditory perception beyond the mere perception of sound, discovering a wisdom beyond words and a peace beyond all understanding.
In a climate of great uncertainty, polarity of thinking and a crying out for healing on a global scale, our Sunday Experience offers the inspiring message that the fundamental nature of the Universe and all beings is Goodness and Love.
“Love is the energizing elixir of the Universe – the cause and effect of all Harmony”
~ Rumi
Our universal message honors the spiritual traditions while incorporating the teachings of leading age thinkers and philosophers.
