“Let me sit here on the threshold of two worlds. Lost in the eloquence of Silence.”
~ Rumi
Silence is often thought of as the absence of sound, a kind of barely tolerable void, longed for only when the chaotic noise of the world becomes too much. Silence is often found to be uncomfortable, preferencing clever articulation over the desperate inward search for just the right words to say.
But to the mystic, silence is a companion presence—a living, creative experience of the heart that renews, restores, and capacitizes one to be with the internal and external world with loving equanimity and deep presence.
Inspired by Robert Sardello’s brilliant book by the same title, “Silence: The Mystery of Wholeness” in this series, we will delve deeply into the subtleties of silence, exploring the phenomenon as a source of wholeness and revitalization, awakening us to the inner currents of spirituality that ultimately lead to a path of universal compassion, service, and healing.
This Sunday we will explore the profound practice of praying within The Silence—an intimate journey into the heart’s inner sanctuary. As we retreat from the noise of everyday life into the quietude that envelops the soul, we discover a deeper connection with the divine and find our true essence anew.
This Sunday we will delve into Unity’s Five Step Prayer Process and discover Silence as both a vessel and a pathway, transporting us to the very core of spiritual experience. Together we will not only learn practical techniques to cultivate a silence practice, but we will also enter an inner sanctum, a sanctuary of personal revelation and profound transformation. Embracing the stillness, we are gifted with new ears to hear the whispers of the divine within our very beingness.
In a climate of great uncertainty, polarity of thinking and a crying out for healing on a global scale, our Sunday Experience offers the inspiring message that the fundamental nature of the Universe and all beings is Goodness and Love.
“Love is the energizing elixir of the Universe – the cause and effect of all Harmony”
~ Rumi
Our universal message honors the spiritual traditions while incorporating the teachings of leading age thinkers and philosophers.
